THE ROAD

UNFURLING

In my later life, I have written down the happenings that captured my imagination. Based in New Zealand, two stories are during the maori wars, ‘One Way Wind’ – A girls horse becomes a war horse. ‘Ngaro-a-Kitea (Lost and Found)’ – Tarata who belonged to the small, brave, militia that roamed in the North. And his great friend John Tripp, who he had lost contact with.

Two contemporary stories, ‘Black Billy Gully’ – The story of Luke Murphy, a returned war hero, and his life on the land. ‘Ragged Glory’ – A simple life that started off as a summer holiday, and grew until it filled a year, with much excitement and laughter, that ultimately became mostly true.
